The first self drive group from the third country entering China at Hunchun border

On June 21st 2019, a self-driving tourist group of a couple, Kurt and his wife who come from Switzerland, organized by our company Chengdu Greatway Tour Co., Ltd., entered China at Hunchun Port, Jilin Province by their own car. To this end, the first temporary vehicle number plate and the first two temporary Chinese driving licenses of Jilin Province were issued by the Traffic Police Battalion of Public Security Bureau in Hunchun City.

Kurt, 66 years old, was an automotive technician and Maria, 67 years old, was a nurse. After their two daughters grown up, they planed to begin the self-driving dream tour of their life around the world.

In June 2017, the two retirees left Switzerland by driving their motor home and started the three-year self-driving journey around Eurasia.

In the past two years, they have been to Austria, Ukraine, Russia, UZ, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Japan, Korea and many other countries.

It would take them 27 days for this tour in China, from Jilin Province to Liaoning, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and so on. And then, they would leave China from Mohan Port, Yunnan to continue their trip in Laos, Vietnam, Pakistan, Turkey and other countries. Finally, they will come back to their home country, Switzerland.
